These Yarn wrapped pumpkins are a colorful and beautiful alternative to carving and are easy for little hands!
We have been decorating lots of pumpkins over the past few days and creating an Autumn display at our home. Pumpkins are great art medium and they come in so many sizes perfect for little hands to work on. We have decorated our Pumpkins with dot stickers, face stickers, playdough, googly eyes! This time we grabbed some yarn and shiny threads from the craft box.
Stick a piece of tape over one end of the yarn/wool or thread, to attach it to the underside of the pumpkin.
And then start to wind it around. Putti needed some help keeping the tension tight as she wrapped the yarn around. You can wrap around as much or as little you want.
The pumpkin with grooves was easier for my girl to wrap the yarn around.
She then went and added another color over her first pumpkin. I love the effect of overlapping the colors and patterns. If your kids have patience they can wrap the whole pumpkin with yarn.
So here’s an easy wrap that still looks so festive!
